The Claymore (derived from the Scottish Gaelic word claidheamh -mòr which translates simply as "great sword) is a double-edged long sword. It was introduced in the 1500's. Wielded by the famous Scottish Highlanders during clan conflicts and border wars between the 15th and 17th centuries.
