Hand crafted in 18 gauge brass The Boeotian helmet was mainly used in Classical Antiquity and the Hellenistic period; it possibly originated in the Greek region of Boeotia.It has an open helmet, allowing good peripheral vision and unimpaired hearing and a domed skull surrounded by a wide, flaring, down-sloping brim. The brim down at the rear protects the back of the neck,the downward pointing folds provide some lateral protection to the face.It is completely wearable and can be used for costume dressing or reenactment purposes.
