A jupon is a type of surcoat which became popular in the 13th and 14th centuries. While the traditional surcoats which it replaced were longer these jupons were intended to be less encumbering while mounted on horseback. Unlike the gambeson, which it resembles, the jupon was generally worn over any chainmail or even plate armour. It was also often worn without to offer some protection to the torso, particularly by peasants and infantry-men who could not afford to provide themselves with expensive armour.

These jupons are hand-made and authentic to the medieval period in Europe. they are offered in five different sizes.
